To save £1.3million a year and to reduce pollution, many residential streets in Oxhey Hall are set to be switched off between midnight and 6am. They will of course come on between sunset and midnight, and from 6am.
Because safety is a priority, lights will stay on in accident hotspots and around road humps and traffic islands. This means parts of Green Lane, Hampermill Lane, Brookdene Ave and the Silk Mill Road area will be lit all night.
This has already been introduced elsewhere in Hertfordshire. Police report no increase in accidents or crime. Please give us your views.
