Reena Ranger was successfully elected as one of the three District Councillors for Moor Park & Eastbury in May 2014 and is Deputy Group Leader, Conservative Group Three Rivers District Council
She previously ran as a County Council Candidate 2013 and was a Parliamentary Candidate in the 2017 General Election. She addressed the delegates at the Conservative Party Conference in 2017 on the topic of “Fighting Injustices” and remains active within the Conservative Party. In her own words:
Whilst much has changed in the world, I still feel the same pride in representing and serving the area that I live in and love and residents who I consider to be my friends and neighbours. Over the years I have knocked on all your doors along with my colleagues and it has been a pleasure to meet many of you on the doorstep, through casework and social engagements.
Through the years, I have sat on numerous committees and working parties at Council. I have put forward many motions covering the protection of our commercial areas from change of use to residential without express planning permission to asking organisers of events on council land or funded by the council to provide a free presence to a stem cell donor list charity. Holding the Liberal Democrat administration to account isn’t always an easy task but is one to which I am committed.
Locally I continue to organise our annual sell out dinner at Peking Garden. Each Autumn, the local community has benefitted from hearing addresses by leading Parliamentarians and Lords. I have also recently organised a community meeting with our Police and Crime Commissioner in response to the concerns of residents about crime and security. It has also been a time when the local plan has begun, looking to build the homes and amenities for our next generation, our meetings on the subject have been well attended and robust.
I cannot fully express my pride and pleasure at being your local councillor. It is an honour and privilege to contribute to the decisions that shape our district for our generation and the next.
