Residents have raised concerns about plans to move the bandstand back to Cassiobury park. The proposal is part of Watford Borough Council’s bid for £5 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for improvements to the Park. Residents and users of the park have been in touch with the Conservatives team to voice doubts about whether this would be a sensible use of this money as the bandstand was only moved to the site by the library recently and the old park bandstand was often vandalised.
As well as moving the bandstand the council’s proposals include an overhaul of the popular paddling pools, improved car parking facilities, and a new visitor centre, which will include an education community room, catering facilities, toilets and changing facilities. Some worry that while this extensive revamp seems like a good idea, the plans could damage the natural beauty of the park as it is further developed.
Linda, Malcolm and the Conservative team would like to hear your views on what improvements you would like to see in the park and what you think of the proposals to move the bandstand. Please get in touch.
