Nascot parents responded enthusiastically to the petition set up by Andrew Mortimer and his fellow councillors to Herts County Council, seeking a review of the Schools Admission Policy.
Herts CC responded to the effect that it would be difficult to alter the system, which ignores barriers such as railway lines when measuring the distance from home to school. This leads to anomalies in Nascot, so that the area above Tunnel Wood has Beechfield as its naturally designated school. We do not think that this is insurmountable. Parents and councillors are meeting school and County officers shortly to discuss a possible solution to this problem. Andrew will keep you posted.
