After the Public Exhibition on 26th January many residents said they wanted the land in Delta Gain to remain for employment use and definitely not for more residential homes. This is in line with the District Council’s Local Development Framework which zones the current offices as “Employment Allocation”.
We now await Kebbell Homes’ submission of a planning application on the site, and will keep you informed of the details.
Any new application will be in addition to the 31 flats approved in August 2010 by Three Rivers Planning Committee when they re-zoned land near the Cow Arch from employment to residential land. That decision by the Council “opened the floodgates”.
Some people have suggested that if the District Council does not insist on the site remaining for “Employment Allocation,” rather than permit more residential flats it could consider warden controlled homes for the elderly. They would not add to pressure on places at St. Meryl School or traffic pressures in Delta Gain in the morning or evening “rush hour”. Please let us know your views.
