School Placements
There was strong support for fighting HCC’s Schools Admission Policy. Residents agreed that a changed policy will encourage more children to walk to school and so help reduce traffic and pollution.
Crime Figures
Most respondents did not know whether crime was on the increase or decrease in Nascot. The latest figures from Nascot’s PC, Kevan Ball, show that, on the whole, the situation is a little better than last year.
Town Centre and Anti-Social Behaviour
Most residents were not prepared to visit Watford town centre at night. The anti-social consequences of Watford’s clubs and bars and lack of other entertainment were the main reasons given.
Street Lights
There was a 50% split between having street lights on overnight, or not! The good news is that local police have noticed no increase in crime or traffic accidents since the lights were switched off.
Council Priorities - Your Recommendations
Top of the list was street cleaning, followed by a revamp of the High Street; at the bottom (by a very long way) was the Council’s publicity budget!
