A Christmas Thank You It was very kind of the Carpenders Park Garden Centre to donate a Christmas tree and for The Partridge to display the tree and pay for the electricity for the tree lights, adding to the Christmas atmosphere in The Parade.
Residents have raised concerns about plans to move the bandstand back to Cassiobury park. The proposal is part of Watford Borough Council’s bid for £5 million from the National Lottery Heritage Fund for improvements to the Park. Residents and users of the park have been in touch with the Conservatives team to voice doubts about whether this would be a sensible use of this money as the bandstand was only moved to the site by the library recently and the old park bandstand was often vandalised.
Residents have contacted the Conservative team to discuss their concerns about Watford Council’s parking charges increase. Many residents and business owners are concerned that this will have a significant impact on visitors, shoppers, fitness enthusiasts, theatergoers and patients. It could damage business for many of the independent restaurants and shops, as well as the local theatre and the newly refurbished Colosseum.
Richard Harrington MP has been working hard with Dorothy Thornhill, the elected Mayor for Watford and Hertfordshire County Council since his election, to persuade the Government to fund the vital project.
Despite assurances from Royal Mail that the reported problems in Watford had been solved, Richard has continued to receive complaints from people in Watford who are experiencing problems with delayed post or missing items.
